1. Overview

Every part we sell carries a minimum 12-month manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Many brands offer 24–36 months — see the coverage cards above.

Warranties are provided by the manufacturer of the part, not by Bavarian Precision Parts Ltd. We act as an authorised reseller and will facilitate all warranty claims on your behalf. In practice this means you deal with us, not the manufacturer directly.

2. What's Covered

Manufacturer warranties generally cover:

  • Defects in materials — metal fatigue, porosity, casting flaws, incorrect alloy composition
  • Defects in workmanship — improper welds, machining errors, incorrect assembly
  • Premature failure of a component under normal operating conditions within the warranty period
  • Finish defects on wheels and exterior components (where stated by the manufacturer)

Warranty coverage begins on the date of purchase (our dispatch date) and runs for the period stated on the product listing.

3. What's Not Covered

The following are excluded from all warranties unless specifically stated by the manufacturer:

  • Normal wear and tear — brake pads, discs, filters, belts and other consumables
  • Incorrect installation — damage resulting from fitting errors, over-torquing or incompatible installation
  • Use outside specification — parts used in applications or environments beyond the manufacturer's stated limits
  • Physical damage — impact, corrosion, crash damage or wheel kerbing
  • Modification — any part that has been altered from its original state
  • Racing use — unless the product is specifically marketed as a race part
  • Fluids past their service life — oils, coolants and brake fluid have recommended change intervals

4. Genuine BMW & OEM Parts

Genuine BMW parts (OEM) carry BMW AG's standard warranty, which is 24 months from date of purchase with no mileage limit when fitted by a BMW-trained technician. When self-installed, BMW's warranty covers manufacturing defects for 24 months but excludes installation-related failures.

BMW OEM parts are identical to the components fitted in new BMW vehicles from the factory. They carry BMW part numbers and are sourced through authorised BMW AG supply channels.

Fitting genuine BMW parts does not affect your new car warranty if your vehicle is still under manufacturer warranty. Under US Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act provisions, you can use non-dealer workshops and genuine parts without voiding your BMW warranty.

5. Making a Warranty Claim

  1. Email warranty@bavarianprecisionparts.com with your order number, the part concerned, and a description of the fault.
  2. Attach clear photos of the defect. For structural failures, we may also need installation photos.
  3. We will assess the claim within 3 business days and confirm whether the fault is covered.
  4. If covered, we will arrange return collection at no cost to you.
  5. The manufacturer will inspect the part (typically 5–10 business days). If the defect is confirmed, we will send a replacement or issue a full refund — your choice.

Do not return warranty items without contacting us first — unannounced returns may delay your claim.

6. Typical Timescales

  • Claim assessment: 3 business days from receiving photos
  • Return collection arranged: Within 1 business day of approval
  • Manufacturer inspection: 5–15 business days (varies by brand)
  • Replacement dispatch or refund: Within 2 business days of manufacturer decision

For urgent situations (e.g. safety-critical part failure preventing vehicle use), contact us by phone and we will prioritise your case.

7. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in this warranty policy affects your statutory rights under applicable US federal and state consumer protection law, including the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Under these protections:

  • Goods must be of merchantable quality, fit for their intended purpose and as described
  • Within the first 30 days: you have the right to a full refund for faulty goods under our returns policy
  • Implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for purpose apply under the UCC as adopted in your state
  • You may have additional rights depending on your state's consumer protection laws

Our manufacturer warranty runs alongside — not instead of — these statutory rights.
